DTC P0958 (Flash Code 28) Auto Shift Manual Mode Circuit High (AWR6B45)

1. DTC P0958 description

When the selector lever is operated from the D position to the right side, the TCM detects that the D position switch of the inhibitor switch and the manual select switch of the manual mode switch are closed, thus the mode switches to the manual mode. If the TCM detects that the inhibitor switch and the manual mode signal do not match, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0958

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The battery voltage is 9.0 to 16.0 V.
  • The ignition voltage is 9.0 to 16.0 V.
  • The engine speed is 550 rpm or more.
  • DTCs P0707, P0708, P2534, P2535, U0073, and U0100 are not set.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • While the P, R, or N position switch is ON, the TCM detects that the manual select switch is ON for 2 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC P0958 sets

  • The TCM flashes the check trans warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C.

  • The TCM inhibits the manual mode.
