DTC B1714[71] Intake Actuator: Operation Failure (Lock) (Auto A/C)

1. Auto A/C control system check

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) diagnostic system check-auto A/C controls".

2. Intake actuator inspection

1) Inspect the intake actuator. Is the result normal?

Yes

=>Go to Intake actuator wire harness and connector inspection.

No

Replace the intake actuator.

Refer to "7.HVAC 7B.Heater Ventilator Airconditioner actuator removal".

Refer to "7.HVAC 7B.Heater Ventilator Airconditioner actuator installation".

=>Go to Repair verification.

3. Intake actuator wire harness and connector inspection

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Disconnect the auto A/C control unit harness connector (B10) and intake actuator harness connector (B62).

3) Inspect the wire harnesses and connectors for the following. Is the result normal?

Wire harness to be inspected

  • Between the auto A/C control unit harness connector (pin 23 of B10) and the intake actuator (pin 4 of B62)
  • Between the auto A/C control unit harness connector (pin 24 of B10) and the intake actuator (pin 5 of B62)

Inspection items

  • Continuity
  • Short to ground or short to other circuits
  • Terminal connection status

Refer to "LHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "RHD HVAC (Automatic Air Conditioner)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Control panel replacement.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

4. Control panel replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the control panel.

Refer to "7.HVAC 7B.Heater Ventilator Airconditioner control panel and control lever installation".

Refer to "7.HVAC 7B.Heater Ventilator Airconditioner control panel and control lever setting".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
