Refer to "54.Brake Control 4A.Troubleshooting(ABS/ESC) diagnostic System Check - Brake Controls".
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2) Connect the scan tool.
3) Turn ON the ignition switch.
4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC U0100[86], U0100[87], or U1800[86] set at the same time?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.
Refer to "54.Brake Control 4A.Troubleshooting(ABS/ESC) DTC U0100[86] Data Length Code Error With ECM".
Refer to "54.Brake Control 4A.Troubleshooting(ABS/ESC) DTC U0100[87] Lost Communication With ECM".

No
1) Observe the ECM DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.
No
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2) Connect the scan tool.
3) Turn ON the ignition switch.
4) Observe the Brake Pedal Status parameter on the scan tool. Does it show ON when the brake pedal is depressed and OFF when released, responding in accordance with the brake pedal operation?
Yes
No

Procedure completion
1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
