STEERING WHEEL COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning
•  Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the driver-side air bag module. 1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (E)](See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM (E)])

3.  Remove the steering wheel bezel. (See STEERING WHEEL BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Remove the steering shift switch. (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Pry the arrow areas shown in the figure and detach the steering wheel cover pins and tabs.

7.  Pull the steering wheel cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it from the steering wheel.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
