Detection condition
•  The dash-electrical supply unit detects an open circuit in the temperature sensor of air for PTC.
Fail-safe
•  Fixes the humidity sensor temperature input value at 25 °C {77 °F} and performs control.
Possible cause
•  Temperature sensor of air for PTC connector or terminal malfunction
•  Dash-electrical supply unit connector or terminal malfunction
•  Open circuit in temperature sensor of air for PTC signal circuit
•  Open circuit in temperature sensor of air for PTC ground circuit
•  Temperature sensor of air for PTC malfunction
•  Dash-electrical supply unit malfunction

•  Inspect the applicable connector and terminal.
•  Are the connector and terminal normal?
Yes

No

INSPECT DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT CONNECTOR FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Inspect the applicable connector and terminal.
•  Are the connector and terminal normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF AIR FOR PTC SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Inspect the applicable circuit for an open circuit.
•  Is the circuit normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF AIR FOR PTC GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Inspect the applicable circuit for an open circuit.
•  Is the circuit normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF AIR FOR PTC FOR MALFUNCTION
•  Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
 
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for dash-electrical supply unit.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the dash-electrical supply unit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
