COWL PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the brake fluid reserve tank (sub) from the cowl panel. (See ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L.H.D.].) (See ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [R.H.D.].)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Windshield wiper motor and link (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Side cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connectors.

5.  Remove wiring harness clip A.

6.  Remove wiring harness clip B. (With windshield wiper de-icer)

7.  Remove the bolts shown in the figure in the order of (1), (2), and (3).

8.  Remove the cowl panel.

Note

•  When replacing the cowl panel, remove the keyless buzzer. (See KEYLESS BEEPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
