Note
•  Fogging or condensation on the inside of the rear combination lights may occur because of a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the rear combination lights. However, it has no effect on the light performance because the phenomenon is resolved when the temperature inside the rear combination light rises after the rear turn light is turned on or a period of time has elapsed.

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Rear trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Front trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the trunk side insulator. (See TRUNK SIDE INSULATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Disconnect the connector.

6.  Insert a remover tool into the service hole at the position shown in the figure.

7.  Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

8.  Remove the tab of the service hole cover from the rear combination light.

9.  Remove the service hole cover.

10.  Remove the nut.

11.  Remove the screws.

Caution
•  When removing the rear combination light from the body, it could interfere with the body and cause scratching or damage to the body. When removing the rear combination light from the body, attach protective tape to the body before performing the work.

12.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.

Caution
•  When removing the rear combination light, be careful not to pull it too hard. Pulling the rear combination light strongly will apply a force to the wiring harness, which may cause an open or short circuit.

13.  Pull the rear combination light in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull out the pin from the body.

14.  Push the wiring harness grommet from inside the body cabin and remove it from the body. (See Wiring Harness Grommet Installation Note.)

15.  Remove the packing.

16.  When replacing the grommet, perform the following procedure.

(1)  Remove the grommets.

17.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


Wiring Harness Grommet Installation Note

•  Pull the wiring harness grommet from inside the body cabin and attach it.
