VERIFY HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY TEMPERATURE
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Display the following PIDs using the M-MDS.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
BECM:
• Is PID HV_BATT_TEMP_MAX 40 °C {104 °F} or more?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to step5.
4
PERFORM HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLING
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Select the following menu and perform the forced operation of the high voltage battery cooling system for 5 min.
• Display the following PIDs using the M-MDS.
(See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.)
BECM:
• Is PID HV_BATT_TEMP_MAX 40 °C {104 °F} or more?
Yes
Perform the inspection content in Step 4 until the value of PID HV_BATT_TEMP_MAX is 40 °C {104 °F} or less.
No
Go to the next step.
5
PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC FOR 2WAY VALVE FOR REFRIGERANT
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Using the M-MDS, select the service support item [Self-Diagnosing Air Conditioner control valves] and inspect the 2way valve for refrigerant.
• Is [Normal] displayed as the diagnosis result?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If [Abnormal] is displayed:
• Replace the 2way valve, then go to the repair completion verification 1.
If [Incomplete] is displayed:
• Go to step7.
6
PERFORM ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC FOR 3WAY VALVE FOR REFRIGERANT
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Using the M-MDS, select the service support item [Self-Diagnosing Air Conditioner control valves] and inspect the 3way valve for refrigerant.
• Is [Normal] displayed as the diagnosis result?
Yes
Go to step9.
No
If [Abnormal] is displayed:
• Replace the 3way valve, then go to the repair completion verification 1.
If [Incomplete] is displayed:
• Go to step8.
7
INSPECT 2WAY VALVE FOR REFRIGERANT FOR MALFUNCTION BY OPERATION SOUND
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Using the M-MDS, display the heat pump control unit simulation item [2_WAY_VLV].
(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)
• Touch the A/C icon to turn the A/C on.
• Switch the 2way valve for refrigerant ON/OFF using the simulation function.
• When the 2way valve for refrigerant is switched ON/OFF, can operation sound be heard from the 2way valve for refrigerant?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the 2way valve, then go to the repair completion verification 1.
8
INSPECT 3WAY VALVE FOR REFRIGERANT FOR MALFUNCTION BY OPERATION SOUND
• Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
• Switch the main power ON.
• Using the M-MDS, display the heat pump control unit simulation item [3_WAY_VLV].
(See SIMULATION INSPECTION.)
• Touch the A/C icon to turn the A/C on.
• Switch the 3way valve for refrigerant ON/OFF using the simulation function.
