With parking sensor system

Note
•  When replacing the license plate light short-cord, refer to ULTRASONIC SENSOR SHORT-CORD INSPECTION. (See ULTRASONIC SENSOR SHORT-CORD INSPECTION.)

Without parking sensor system

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the trunk end trim. (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Partially peel back the trunk side trim. (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear splash shield (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Rear bumper stay (See REAR BUMPER STAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Rear bumper retainer No.1 (See REAR BUMPER RETAINER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL.) (See REAR BUMPER INSTALLATION.)
(6)  License plate light short-cord (See LICENSE PLATE LIGHT SHORT-CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Verify that the continuity between the license plate light short-cord terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the license plate light short-cord. (See LICENSE PLATE LIGHT SHORT-CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
