Climate Control Unit With RECIRCULATE/FRESH Lever Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Bonnet release lever (See BONNET RELEASE LEVER AND RELEASE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Center console tray (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Shift bezel (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(8)  Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(9)  Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [F65M-R].)(See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [F66M-R].)

3.  Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)

4.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

5.  Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to the body ground.

6.  By inserting the positive (+) lead of the tester into the climate control unit connector, measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage table.

•  If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under “Inspection item (s)”.
―  If the parts under “Inspection item (s)” are found to be normal (except for terminal H), replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)
―  For terminal H, first try replacing the blower fan controller. If there is still any malfunction, replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)

Climate Control Unit With RECIRCULATE/FRESH Switch Type

2.  Remove the following parts:

3.  Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)

4.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

5.  Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to the body ground.

6.  By inserting the positive (+) lead of the tester into the climate control unit connector, measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage table.

•  If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under “Inspection item (s)”.
―  If the parts under “Inspection item (s)” are found to be normal (except for terminal I), replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)
―  For terminal I, first try replacing the blower fan controller. If there is still any malfunction, replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER].)
