TCC stuck on

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM detects that difference between the input revolution and output revolution is more than 50 rpm when the following conditions are met.
―  4GR
―  Vehicle speed: between more than 70 km/h {43 mph}
―  TCC operation: Off
―  Throttle opening angle: 0.781—3.125%
Diagnostic support note:
•  This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
•  The MIL does not illuminate.
•  The The HOLD indicator light flashes if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
•  PENDING CODE is not available.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Deteriorated ATF
•  ATF level low
•  Line pressure low
•  Shift solenoids A, B, C, D, E, and pressure control solenoid malfunction
•  Control valve body malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT ATF CONDITION
•  Inspect the ATF condition.
•  Is it normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the oil color is milky or reddish brown, replace the ATF, then go to Step 4.

INSPECT ATF LEVEL
•  Inspect the ATF level.
•  Is it normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Add ATF to the specified level, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT LINE PRESSURE
•  Measure the line pressures.
•  Are the line pressures within the specifications?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
All ranges: Replace the oil pump, then go to Step 6.
Any ranges: Replace the control valve body, then go to Step 6.

INSPECT OPERATION OF EACH VALVE AND EACH SPRING
•  Remove the control valve body.
•  Disassemble the control valve body.
•  Is each valve operation normal and is the return spring normal?
Yes
Replace the transaxle, then go to the next step
No
Repair or replace the valve and return spring, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0742:00 COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the memory using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the following procedure to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:
1.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 3 s.
•  4GR
•  TCC operation Off
•  Vehicle speed: more than 70 km/h {43 mph}
•  Throttle opening angle: fully closed
2.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 3 s.
•  4GR
•  TCC operation Off
•  Vehicle speed: more than 70 km/h {43 mph}
•  Throttle opening angle: 3.13—10.1%
3.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions for 3 s.
•  4GR
•  TCC operation Off
•  Vehicle speed: more than 70 km/h {43 mph}
•  Throttle opening angle: more than 10.1%
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform the “After Repair Procedure”.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
