DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The PCM monitors the sensor reference voltage from the EGR valve position sensor, intake shutter valve position sensor, wastegate valve actuator position sensor, MAP sensor and APP sensor. If the power supply voltages for the EGR valve position sensor, intake shutter valve, wastegate actuator, position sensor, MAP sensor, and APP sensor are not within 4.7-5.3 V, the PCM determines that there is a malfunction in the sensor reference circuit.

• EGR valve position sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• Intake shutter valve position sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• Wastegate valve actuator position sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• MAP sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• APP sensor connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between EGR valve position sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 102
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between intake shutter valve position sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 103
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between wastegate valve actuator position sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 113
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between MAP sensor terminal C and PCM terminal 250
• Short to power supply in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal A and instrument cluster terminal 1F
• Short to ground in wiring harness between EGR valve position sensor terminal E and PCM terminal 102
• Short to ground in wiring harness between intake shutter valve position sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 103
• Short to ground in wiring harness between wastegate valve actuator position sensor terminal A and PCM terminal 113
• Short to ground in wiring harness between MAP sensor terminal C and PCM terminal 250
• Short to ground in wiring harness between APP sensor terminal A and instrument cluster terminal 1F
• EGR valve position sensor malfunction
• Intake shutter valve position sensor malfunction
• Wastegate valve actuator position sensor malfunction
• MAP sensor malfunction
• APP sensor malfunction
• PCM connector or terminal malfunction

VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE AND/OR DTC
• Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
• Perform the Pending Trouble Code Access Procedure and DTC Reading Procedure.
• Is the other PENDING CODE/DTC also present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6].)
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT EGR VALVE POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the EGR valve position sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 26.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT INTAKE SHUTTER VALVE POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the intake shutter valve position sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 26.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT WASTEGATE VALVE ACTUATOR POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the wastegate valve actuator position sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 26.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT MAP SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?

No

Go to the next step.

• Is the voltage B+?

Yes

No

• Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 26.

No
|

• Disconnect the wastegate valve actuator position sensor connector.
• Inspect for continuity between wastegate valve actuator position sensor terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?

Yes

Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 26.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT MAP SENSOR POWER CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Disconnect the MAP sensor connector.
• Inspect for continuity between MAP sensor terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 26.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT APP SENSOR POWER CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Disconnect the APP sensor connector.
• Inspect for continuity between APP sensor terminal A (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?

Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 26.

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion)
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT DTC P06A6:00 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the after repair procedure.
• Are any DTCs present?
