CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL[MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the following parts:
- (1) Ashtray panel

- (2) Detach the bonnet release lever from the lower panel. (See BONNET LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L.H.D.].) (See BONNET LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[R.H.D.].)

- (3) Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

- (4) Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (5) Lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (6) Decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (7) Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (8) PJB and PJB bracket (See PASSENGER JUNCTION BOX (PJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (9) Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (10) Driver-side air bag module (R.H.D., MTX) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (11) Column cover (R.H.D., MTX) (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (12) Meter hood (R.H.D., MTX) (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (13) Instrument cluster (R.H.D., MTX) (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
-
- (14) Steering shaft (R.H.D., MTX) (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Detach the PJB wiring harness clamp from the dashboard.
4. Remove the center panel unit. (See CENTER PANEL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Remove the air intake wire (Australian, General (L.H.D. R.H.D.) specs.), air mix wire and airflow mode wire with wire clamp from the A/C unit.

MTX vehicles
-
1. Remove the wire clamp screws from the A/C unit using a ratchet offset screwdriver (commercially available tool) and disconnect the air mix wire with the wire clamp still installed.
2. Remove the wire clamp screws from the A/C unit and disconnect the airflow mode wire from the A/C unit with the wire clamp still installed.

ATX vehicles

1. Remove the wire clamp screws from the A/C unit and disconnect the air mix, airflow mode wire from the A/C unit with the wire clamp still installed.
6. Release the left and right tabs and remove in the order indicated in the table.
