INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

Warning

•  A hot engine and intake air system can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the intake air system.

1.  Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Air Cleaner Cover Removal Note

1.  Remove the MAF sensor/IAT sensor No.1. (See MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) SENSOR/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR NO.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

2.  Remove the air cleaner cover and air hose as a single unit.

3.  Remove the air cleaner cover.

Air Cleaner Case Removal Note

1.  Remove the air cleaner case and fresh-air duct No.3 as a single unit.

2.  Remove the air cleaner case.

Resonance Chamber Removal Note

1.  Remove the splash shield (LH). (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Set the front mudguard (LH) out of the way. (See FRONT MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the resonance chamber.

Vacuum Hose Removal Note

1.  Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

2.  Remove the vacuum hose.

Intake Manifold Removal Note

1.  Remove the MAP sensor/IAT sensor No.2. (See MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR/INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

2.  Disconnect the harness clips from the intake manifold as shown in the figure.

Evaporative Hose Installation Note

1.  Install the evaporative hose as shown in the figure.
