Determination procedure

Caution
•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.
•  When inspecting the DLC-2, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester into the terminals.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any work that requires handling of connectors.

INSPECT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY BETWEEN BCM AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the BCM connector 1.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 16.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT BCM FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the BCM connector 2.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the BCM because there is a short to the power supply in the BCM.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-17.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 7.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN REAR VEHICLE MONITORING CONTROL MODULE (RH) AND CONNECTOR C-17 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) terminals L and I.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the BCM and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN REAR VEHICLE MONITORING CONTROL MODULE (RH) AND CONNECTOR C-24 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-24.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) terminals L and I.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-17 and connector C-24 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT REAR VEHICLE MONITORING CONTROL MODULE (RH) FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) terminals L and I.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) because the rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) is shorted to the power supply.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the rear vehicle monitoring control module (RH) and connector C-24 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-43 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-43.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 11.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-43 AND AFS CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at AFS control module terminals B and A.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT AFS CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the AFS control module connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at AFS control module terminals B and A (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the AFS control module because there is a short to the power supply in the AFS control module.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-43 and the AFS control module because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
10
INSPECT SAS CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Connect the BCM connector 2.
•  Connect connector C-17.
•  Disconnect the SAS control module.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the SAS control module because there is a short to the power supply in the SAS control module.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the SAS control module and connector C-17/C-50 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-47 AND DLC-2 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-47.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the DLC-2 and connector C-47 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-47 AND KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at keyless control module terminals 2K and 2L.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 14.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the keyless control module connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at keyless control module terminals 2K and 2L (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the keyless control module because there is a short to the power supply in the keyless control module.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-47 and the keyless control module because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-43 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals 2B and 2D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-43 and connector C-47 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals 2B and 2D (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster because the instrument cluster is shorted to the power supply.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-47 and the instrument cluster because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-41 AND BCM FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Connect the BCM connector 1.
•  Disconnect connector C-41.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals E and F.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-41 and the BCM because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN DSC HU/CM AND CONNECTOR C-41 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DSC HU/CM terminals M and J.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 19.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DSC HU/CM OR FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the DSC HU/CM connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DSC HU/CM terminals M and J (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the DSC HU/CM because the DSC HU/CM is shorted to the power supply.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the DSC HU/CM and connector C-41 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN-RELATED MODULES FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Note
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable before disconnecting the connectors, and connect the negative battery cable before measuring the terminal voltage.
•  Connect connector C-41.
•  Measure the voltage at the following terminals while removing the PCM and EHPAS control module one by one.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
―  DLC-2 terminal F
―  DLC-2 terminal E
•  Is the voltage between 1.5 - 3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the module in which the voltage is between 1.5-3.5 when the module is removed.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the PCM and EHPAS control module/connector C-02 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
