SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (SECONDARY CONTROL VALVE BODY) [FS5A-EL]

Warning
•  Using compressed air can cause dirt and other particles to fly out, causing injury to the eyes. Wear protective eyeglasses whenever using compressed air.
•  A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool.
Caution
•  Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].)

3.  Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Clean the transaxle exterior throughout with a steam cleaner or cleaning solvents.

5.  Drain the ATF into a separate suitable container. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FS5A-EL].)

6.  Remove the EPS control module. (See EPS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the oil cover. (See SECONDARY CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL [FS5A-EL].)

8.  Remove the secondary control valve body. (See SECONDARY CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL [FS5A-EL].)

9.  Remove the bracket.

10.  Remove the solenoid valve(s).

11.  Apply ATF to a new O-ring and install it on the solenoid valve.

12.  Install the solenoid valve in the secondary control valve body.

Tightening torque
8—10 N·m {80—110 kgf·cm, 70—95 in·lbf}

13.  Install the bracket.

Tightening torque
8—10 N·m {80—110 kgf·cm, 70—95 in·lbf}

14.  Install the secondary control valve body. (See SECONDARY CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL [FS5A-EL].)

15.  Install the oil cover. (See SECONDARY CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL [FS5A-EL].)

16.  Install the EPS control module. (See EPS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

17.  Install the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].)

18.  Add the ATF. (SeeAUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FS5A-EL].)

19.  Install the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

20.  Connect the negative battery cable.

21.  Perform the “Mechanical System Test“. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [FS5A-EL].)

22.  Perform the “Road Test“. (See ROAD TEST [FS5A-EL].)
