1.   Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)

3.  Remove the plug hole plate. (MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.0 DISI, MZR 2.5) (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].)

4.  Remove the engine cover. (MZR-CD 2.2)

5.  Remove the boost sensor. (See COMMON RAIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

6.  Remove the air cleaner, air hose and fresh air duct component. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

7.  Remove the throttle body with the water hoses still connected. Position the throttle body so that it is out of the way. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

8.  Remove the coolant reserve tank. (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

9.  Remove the cooling fan component. (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

10.  Disconnect the ATF oil cooler hose from the radiator. (See OIL COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FS5A-EL].)

11.  Remove the radiator grille. (See RADIATOR GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

12.  Remove the radiator. (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)

13.  Remove the in the order indicated in the table. Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the refrigerant line to spill.

Caution
•  If moisture or foreign material enters the refrigeration cycle, cooling ability will be lowered and abnormal noise or other malfunction could occur. Always plug open fittings immediately after removing any refrigeration cycle parts.
