Description

•  Door lock-link switch (driver’s side) lock-side circuit malfunction


Detection Condition

•  Short to ground in door lock-link switch (driver’s side) lock-side circuit with the door lock-link switch (driver’s side) unlocked.


Possible Causes

•  Front door latch and lock actuator (driver’s side) connector or terminals malfunction
•  Door lock-link switch (driver’s side) malfunction
•  BCM connector or terminals malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (LH) terminal D—BCM terminal 8G (L.H.D.)
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (RH) terminal J—BCM terminal 8G (R.H.D.)
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the door lock-link switch (driver's side) unlocked.
•  Is the DTC B1172:11 present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

INSPECT FRONT DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR (DRIVER’S SIDE) CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the front door latch and lock actuator (driver's side) connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE)
•  Inspect the door lock-link switch (driver's side).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the front door latch and lock actuator (driver's side), then go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 6.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Front door latch and lock actuator (driver's side) and BCM connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (LH) terminal D (L.H.D.)
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (RH) terminal J (R.H.D.)
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Clear the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the door lock-link switch (driver's side) unlocked.
•  Is the DTC B1172:11 present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

•  Door lock-link switch (driver’s side) lock-side circuit malfunction


Detection Condition

•  Short to ground in door lock-link switch (driver’s side) lock-side circuit with the door lock-link switch (driver’s side) unlocked.


Possible Causes

•  Front door latch and lock actuator (driver’s side) connector or terminals malfunction
•  Door lock-link switch (driver’s side) malfunction
•  Keyless control module connector or terminals malfunction
•  BCM connector or terminals malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (LH) terminal D—BCM terminal 8G (L.H.D.)
―  Keyless control module terminal 3P—BCM terminal 8G
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (RH) terminal J—BCM terminal 8G (R.H.D.)
•  Keyless control module malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

Yes
Replace the front door latch and lock actuator (driver's side), then go to Step 8.
No

INSPECT KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the keyless control module connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DOOR LOCK-LINK SWITCH (DRIVER’S SIDE) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Front door latch and lock actuator (driver's side), keyless control module and BCM connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (LH) terminal D (L.H.D.)
―  Front door latch and lock actuator (RH) terminal J (R.H.D.)
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to ground, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT KEYLESS CONTROL MODULE
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage at the keyless control module terminal 3P (wiring harness-side).
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the keyless control module, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Clear the DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the door lock-link switch (driver's side) unlocked.
•  Is the DTC B1172:11 present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
