DTC	U0401:00		CAN system communication error
DETECTION CONDITION		•  Signal from PCM via CAN communication is interrupted
POSSIBLE CAUSE		•  PCM malfunction •  ABS/DSC malfunction •  ABS wheel-speed sensor malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	INSPECT FOR PCM AND ABS/DSC MALFUNCTION •  Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the PCM and ABS/DSC. (See OBD ON-BOARD SYSTEM READINESS TEST [L8, LF, L5].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [MZR-CD 2.2].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [ABS].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) •  Are any DTCs detected?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [L8, LF, L5].) (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].) (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [ABS].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) DTC troubleshooting completed., then go to the next step.
		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED •  Clear the DTC from the memory. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) •  Is the same DTC present? (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)	Yes	Replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L8, LF, L5].) (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].) (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
