2. Inspect and determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply.

Repair or replace the parking brake cables if necessary.

Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the rear parking brake cable.
Rotate the rear wheel.

Replace the front parking brake cable.

Go to the next step.

Inspect the rear parking brake cable.
Disconnect the rear parking brake cable from the rear brake drum.
Rotate the rear wheel.
Does the real wheel rotate freely?

Yes

Replace the rear parking brake cable.

No
|
Go to the brake system inspection/verification.
