Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

Note: In cases where the cause of an engine running or performance complaint cannot be readily determined, or if the vehicle did not receive an Engine Maintenance for an extended period of time, an Engine Maintenance or Engine Test should be performed before using the Diagnostic Chart. Check for contamination of fuel system (water).

Using the Diagnostic Chart:
Find the Complaint/Problem in the left column of the chart. Perform test(s) sequentially as indicated by the numbers. Test No. and Test Operation are given across the top of the chart. The numbered order indicates the test priority. Click on the numbered step to go to the applicable test procedure.
