Towing Recognition Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Remove left side panel trim in luggage compartment

- Disengage connectors - 2 - and disconnect them from Towing Recognition Control Module (J345).





• The number of harness connectors Towing Recognition Control Module (J345) can deviate from the illustration depending on vehicle equipment.

- Remove mounting bolts - 1 - and remove Towing Recognition Control Module (J345) with bracket out of vehicle.

- Remove mounting bolts - arrows - and remove Towing Recognition Control Module (J345) from bracket.





Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Tighten all threaded connections to the specification.

• After installing a new Towing Recognition Control Module (J345), it must be coded. Refer to=> [ Towing Recognition Control Module, Coding ] Testing and Inspection.
