Steering Column Switch

Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid

Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid (N376) is installed in the immediate vicinity of ignition/starter switch.

To remove ignition key in vehicles with automatic transmission, always shift selector lever into position "P" and then switch off ignition. Otherwise, Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid (N376) prevents ignition key from being removed!

Removing

- Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) Refer to=> [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module ]. Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module

- Release locking device - 2 - using a suitable screwdriver.





- Pull Ignition Key Removal Lock Solenoid (N376 ) - 1 - in direction of arrow out of its mount.

- During this, harness connector is simultaneously disconnected.

Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

After connecting battery, perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) to activate the Ignition Switch Key Lock Solenoid (N376 ) Refer to=> [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, Coding ] Testing and Inspection.
