P410 HYBRID TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

3. REMOVE HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the clamp and washer hose.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and hood sub-assembly.

4. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

5. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

6. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

7. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

8. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

9. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

10. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

11. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine) Coolant (for Engine)

12. DRAIN COOLANT (for Inverter) Coolant (for Inverter)

13. DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID Adjustments

14. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

Removal

15. REMOVE COWL BODY MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT LH Removal

16. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

17. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER Removal

18. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

21. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE Removal

22. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY Removal

23. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER Removal

24. REMOVE NO. 1 INVERTER BRACKET Removal

25. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE Removal

26. REMOVE INVERTER COVER Removal

27. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE Removal

28. DISCONNECT FRAME WIRE Removal

29. DISCONNECT GENERATOR CABLE Removal

30. DISCONNECT MOTOR CABLE Removal

31. DISCONNECT NO. 2 ENGINE WIRE Removal

32. INSTALL INVERTER COVER Removal

33. DISCONNECT NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM WIRE Removal

34. DISCONNECT WATER HOSE Removal

35. REMOVE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY Removal

36. REMOVE INVERTER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY Removal

37. REMOVE INVERTER TRAY BRACKET Removal

38. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

39. DISCONNECT NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS HOSE Removal

40. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE Removal

41. DISCONNECT NO. 3 INVERTER COOLING HOSE Removal

42. DISCONNECT NO. 5 INVERTER COOLING HOSE Removal

43. REMOVE WATER HOSE

(a) Disconnect the clamp.





(b) Disconnect the 2 clamps and remove the water hose.

44. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(b) Pull up the lever and disconnect the connector of the ECM.

(c) Disconnect the 2 connectors and clamp from the engine room junction block and separate the wire harness.





(d) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(e) Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.





(f) Release the green-colored lock and disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration.





CAUTION:
Wear insulated gloves when performing the procedure.

NOTICE:
Insulate the connector by sealing it with tape.

(g) Disconnect the clamp and wire harness.





(h) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 6 connectors and 12 wire harness clamps.

50. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE Removal

51. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

52. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH Removal

53. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT RH

68. INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS

(a) Install the 2 engine hangers with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)





(b) Attach a sling device to the engine hangers and a chain block.

69. REMOVE STARTER HOLE INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and starter hole insulator.





70. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

(a) Remove the flywheel housing side cover.





71. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LOWER REINFORCEMENT Removal

72. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

73. REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

74. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BRACE LH Removal

76. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

78. SUPPORT HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Support the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.

79. REMOVE FRONT CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and nut.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and front crossmember sub-assembly.





80. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR Removal

81. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the engine mounting insulator LH.





NOTICE:
Turn the nut while holding the bolt.

(b) Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH.





82. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 7 bolts and hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.





NOTICE:
* To avoid damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the hybrid transaxle and the engine.
* To prevent the splines of the damper from becoming misaligned, do not allow the transaxle to hit the damper during transaxle removal and installation.

83. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.





84. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket.





85. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.





86. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE BRACKET

(a) Remove the bolt and motor cable bracket.
