Variable Induction Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV) solenoid is used to control the manifold tuning valve located on the intake manifold.

Power for the solenoid is supplied on the F18 circuit. This circuit is protected by a 10 Amp fuse located in cavity 20 of the junction block. The F18 circuit is HOT in the START and RUN position only Power for the fuse is supplied on circuit A21 from the ignition switch.

The A21 circuit receives power from the A1 circuit. This circuit is protected by a 20 Amp fuse located in cavity A of the Power Distribution Center (PDC).

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the ground path for the solenoid on circuit K36. Circuit K36 connects to cavity 39 of the PCM.
