1. SRS system check
Refer to "58.SRS Control 8A.Troubleshooting(Air Bag (Driver/Passenger)) diagnostic system check-SRS controls".
2. Front right side pretensioner circuit resistance check
1) Observe the Pretensioner(Front Right) Loop Resistance parameter on the scan tool. Is the Pretensioner(Front Right) Loop Resistance parameter less than or equal to the specified value?
Value: 1 Ω
Yes (Extend cab models)
=>Go to Intermediate connector connection check.
Yes (Except extend cab models)
=>Go to Connection check for front right side pretensioner harness connector.
No
Go to Intermittent conditions of SRS control.
Refer to "209.Restraints 22D.Symptom Intermittent conditions of SRS control".
3. Intermediate connector connection check
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Verify that the intermediate connector (H38) is securely connected. Is the intermediate connector (H38) securely connected?

Yes
=>Go to Intermediate connector inspection.
No
Securely connect the intermediate connector (H38).
4. Intermediate connector inspection
1) Disconnect the intermediate connector (H38).
2) Inspect the intermediate connector terminals (pins 2 and 3 of H38) for bending, dirt, etc. Is the result normal?

No

5. Connection check for front right side pretensioner harness connector
1) Verify that the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18) is securely connected. Is the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18) securely connected?

Yes

No
Securely connect the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18 for regular cab and crew cab models, D28 for extend cab models).
6. Front right side pretensioner harness connector inspection
1) Disconnect the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18 for regular cab and crew cab models, D28 for extend cab models).
2) Inspect the front right side pretensioner harness connector terminals (regular cab and crew cab models: pins 1 and 2 of R18, extend cab models: pins 1 and 2 of D28) for bending, dirt, etc. Is the result normal?

7. Current DTC check
1) Connect the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18 for regular cab and crew cab models, D28 for extend cab models).
Refer to "LHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
Refer to "RHD SRS airbag (Driver/Passenger)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).
2) Turn ON the ignition switch.
3) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool for DTC B0070[1A] being set as a current failure. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Front right side pretensioner circuit check.
No
8. Front right side pretensioner circuit check
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Disconnect the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18 for regular cab and crew cab models, D28 for extend cab models).
3) Connect the SRS alternative load and the appropriate adapter from the adapter harness kit to the front right side pretensioner harness connector (R18 for regular cab and crew cab models, D28 for extend cab models).

Yes
=>Go to Inspection for short circuit in front right side pretensioner circuit.
No
Replace the front right side seat belt with pretensioner.

9. Inspection for short circuit in front right side pretensioner circuit
1) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
2) Inspect for a short together between the front right side pretensioner ignition current output (High) circuit and the front right side pretensioner ignition current output (Low) circuit between the SRS control unit (pins 5 and 6 of R5) and the front right side pretensioner (regular cab and crew cab models: pins 1 and 2 of R18, extend cab models: pins 1 and 2 of D28). Is the result normal?

10. SRS control unit replacement

1) Reconnect all of the disconnected harness connectors.
2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.
3) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 15 seconds or more.
4) Turn ON the ignition switch.
