DTC U023A Lost Communication with CAMERA Control Unit (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. Engine control system check

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) Diagnostic system check-engine controls".

2. Prioritized DTC check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 1 minute or more.

3) Start the engine.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC U0001 set at the same time?

Yes

Go to DTC U0001 diagnosis.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC U0001 High Speed CAN Communication Bus".

No

=>Go to Stereo camera communication verification.

3. Stereo camera communication verification

1) Verify that communication can be established with the stereo camera using the scan tool. Can communication with the stereo camera be established?

Yes

=>Go to Powertrain CAN communication circuit communication verification.

No

Go to Lost communication with the stereo camera.

Refer to "75.Driver Assistance System 10W.Troubleshooting(Stereo Camera) lost communication with the stereo camera".

4. Powertrain CAN communication circuit communication verification

1) Verify that communication can be established between the stereo camera and the following control modules using a scan tool. Can communication with any of the control modules be established?

Yes

=>Go to Stereo camera harness connector inspection.

No

=>Go to Central gateway control system inspection.

5. Central gateway control system inspection

1) Perform the central gateway control system inspection.

Refer to "64.Body Control 10I.Troubleshooting(Central GateWay) diagnostic system check - central gateway controls".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Stereo camera harness connector inspection.

6. Stereo camera harness connector inspection

1) Inspect for poor connections at the stereo camera harness connector (pins 7 and 8 of L17). Is the connection status normal?

Refer to "RHD Controller Area Network (Central Gateway C/U (4JJ3 with DPD))" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Refer to "LHD Controller Area Network (Central Gateway C/U)" in the ETM (wiring diagram). (Open using the ETM viewer.).

Yes

=>Go to Stereo camera replacement.

No

Repair the connections as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

7. Stereo camera replacement

Refer to "9.Body, Cab, Accessories 9E.Instrumentation, Driver Info. stereo camera removal".

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 1 minute or more.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
