DTC B1084[29] Invalid Data Received from Electric Steering Lock (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

1. Wireless access module system check

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System])) Diagnostic system check-Wireless Access Module (Hi-version[Passive Entry and Start System])".

2. Inspection for open circuit and short circuit in steering lock position signal circuit

1) Inspect the signal circuit between the wireless access module (pin 16 of B15) and the steering lock assembly (pin 4 of B39) for the following. Is the result normal?

  • Open circuit
  • High resistance
  • Short to the power supply circuit
  • Short to ground

Yes

=>Go to Inspection for open circuit and short circuit in the steering lock operating permission signal circuit.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

=>Go to Repair verification.

3. Inspection for open circuit and short circuit in the steering lock operating permission signal circuit

1) Inspect the signal circuit between the wireless access module (pin 17 of B15) and the steering lock assembly (pin 3 of B39) for the following. Is the result normal?

  • Open circuit
  • High resistance
  • Short to the power supply circuit
  • Short to ground

Yes

Replace the steering lock assembly.

Note

  • After replacing the steering lock assembly, programming must be performed.

No

Repair the circuit as necessary.

4. Current DTC check

1) Connect all of the disconnected harness connectors.

2) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

3) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

4) Open and close the driver side door.

5) Press the engine start/stop button.

6) Turn the ignition switch to ACC or ON.

7) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Wireless access module replacement.

No

=>Go to Repair verification.

5. Wireless access module replacement

Note

  • After replacing the wireless access module, programming must be performed.

6. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Open and close the driver side door.

4) Turn the ignition switch to ACC or ON.

5) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
