1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Remove the following parts:
3. Move the rear window defogger connectors in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and disconnect them.

4. Apply protective tape along the edge of the body.

5. Cut the tip of the piano wire diagonally to facilitate insertion of the piano wire through the sealant.

6. Pass the piano wire from the cabin side through the sealant.

7. Wind both ends of the piano wire using the piano wire grips.
8. Secure one end of piano wire, and while pulling the other end, cut the sealant around the rear window glass.

9. After the piano wire reaches the pin position, cut the sealant so that the sealant around the pin does not remain on the body.

10. After the piano wire reaches the pin position, pull out the piano wire and reinsert it at the position avoiding the pin.
11. Cut the sealant around the rear window glass.
12. Grip the pins from the inside of the vehicle and detach them.
13. Before removing the rear window glass from the body, mark the position of the glass by applying tape to the glass and body panel. (When reusing rear window glass)
14. Remove the rear window glass.
