HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE
id300400001000
Purpose, Function
• The high voltage cables transmit electrical power between the high voltage battery, charging port, DC-DC converter, electric compressor, and PTC heater.
Construction
• The high voltage cable are insulated from the vehicle body on both positive and negative sides. As a result, safety of the high voltage circuits is assured.
• The high voltage cable are covered by orange insulation as a standard. This helps workers recognize the high voltage cable easily at first sight.
• The connection area of the high voltage cable has an interlock switch construction so that the PCM can detect exposure of the high voltage circuit. (See
INTERLOCK SWITCH.)

Caution
-
• When tightening the bolts for the high voltage wiring, tighten them to the specified torque.
Overtightening may break or damage the bolt and insufficient tightening may increase the contact resistance and generate heat, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
Inside high voltage battery (See HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY.)
-
Note
-
• Servicing is not possible with the high voltage battery cover open.
Charge port (See CHARGE PORT ASSEMBLY / CHARGE LID BOX ASSEMBLY [(E)].), On board charger (See ONBOARD CHARGER.)
Between high voltage battery and junction box No.3 (See JUNCTION BOX No.3.)
Inverter (See INVERTER.), DC-DC converter (See DC-DC CONVERTER.)
-
Note
-
• The high voltage circuits between the inverter and junction box No.3 and between the inverter and the electric motor are connected using bus bars.
Electric compressor (See ELECTRIC COMPRESSOR.)
PTC heater (See POSITIVE TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT (PTC) HEATER.)
