•  Measure the battery voltage.

•  Is the battery voltage 10.0—14.0 V?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace or recharge the battery.

•  Inspect the TCM related harnesses, connectors and fuses.

•  Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

No

Go to the next step.

•  Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

•  Retrieve DTC using the M-MDS.
(See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Record the Freeze Frame Data and perform the appropriate DTC troubleshooting procedures.

(See DTC TABLE [SJ6A-EL].)

No

Go to the next step.

•  Inspect the ATF color and condition.
(See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Are ATF color and odor normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

Flush AT and cooler line if necessary.

•  Perform the road test.
(See ROAD TEST [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Is the AT operating normally?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

•  Perform the time lag test.
(See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Is the AT operating normally?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

•  Perform the stall test.
(See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Is the stall speed within the specified?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

•  Perform the line pressure test.
(See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [SJ6A-EL].)

•  Is the line pressure within the specified?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.

•  Inspect the following part or signal related PIDs using the M-MDS:

No

Repair or replace any malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.
