FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD INSPECTION

Note

•  The front turn light short cord for vehicles with the parking sensor system is integrated with the front ultrasonic sensor short cord.

Without Parking Sensor System

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Partially peel back front mudguard. (See MUDGUARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the front turn light short cord. (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Verify that the continuity between the front turn light short cord terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the front turn light short cord. (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

With Parking Sensor System

Front turn light short cord

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL.) (See FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front turn light short cord (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity between the front turn light short cord terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the front turn light short cord. (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Front corner ultrasonic sensor short cord

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL.) (See FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front turn light short cord (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity between the front turn light short cord terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the front turn light short cord. (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Front ultrasonic sensor short cord

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Remove the following parts.

(1)  Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL.) (See FRONT BUMPER INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front turn light short cord (See FRONT TURN LIGHT SHORT CORD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Verify that the continuity between the front turn light short cord terminals is as indicated in the table.
