Determination Procedure

Caution

•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.

•  When inspecting the DLC-2, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester into the terminals.

1	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-11 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER •  Disconnect the negative battery cable. •  Disconnect connector C-11. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between DLC-2 terminal L and body ground ―  Between DLC-2 terminal K and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 18.
2	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER •  Disconnect connector C-17. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between DLC-2 terminal L and body ground ―  Between DLC-2 terminal K and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to Step 6.
		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND WATER HEATER UNIT •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between water heater unit terminal F and body ground ―  Between water heater unit terminal D and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-11 and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
4	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN WATER HEATER UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-57 •  Disconnect connector C-57. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between water heater unit terminal F and body ground ―  Between water heater unit terminal D and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-17 and connector C-57 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
5	INSPECT CAN LINE IN WATER HEATER UNIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the water heater unit connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between water heater unit terminal F (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between water heater unit terminal D (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the water heater unit and connector C-57 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the water heater unit because there is a short to ground inside the unit. (See WATER HEATER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
6	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-49 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER •  Disconnect connector C-49. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between DLC-2 terminal L and body ground ―  Between DLC-2 terminal K and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to Step 9.
		No	Go to the next step.
7	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN BLUETOOTH UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-49 •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between Bluetooth unit terminal Y and body ground ―  Between Bluetooth unit terminal Z and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-17 and connector C-49 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
8	INSPECT CAN LINE IN BLUETOOTH UNIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the Bluetooth unit connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between Bluetooth unit terminal Y (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between Bluetooth unit terminal Z (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the Bluetooth unit and connector C-49 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the Bluetooth unit because there is a short to ground inside the unit. (See Bluetooth UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
9	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-46 AND DLC-2 •  Disconnect connector C-46. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between DLC-2 terminal L and body ground ―  Between DLC-2 terminal K and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between DLC-2 and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Go to the next step.
10	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-46 •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between climate control unit terminal 2E and body ground ―  Between climate control unit terminal 2G and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 12.
11	INSPECT CAN LINE IN CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the climate control unit connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between climate control unit terminal 2E (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between climate control unit terminal 2G (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the climate control unit and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the climate control unit because there is a short to ground inside the unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
12	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN AUDIO UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-46 •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between audio unit terminal 1O and body ground ―  Between audio unit terminal 1Q and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 14.
13	INSPECT CAN LINE IN AUDIO UNIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the audio control connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between audio unit terminal 1O (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between audio unit terminal 1Q (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the audio unit and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the audio unit because there is a short to ground inside the unit. (See AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
14	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN USB ADAPTER AND CONNECTOR C-46 •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between USB adapter terminal 1L and body ground ―  Between USB adapter terminal 1K and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 16.
15	INSPECT CAN LINE IN USB ADAPTER FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the USB adapter connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between USB adapter terminal 1L (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between USB adapter terminal 1K (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the USB adapter and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the USB adapter because there is a short to ground inside the unit. (See USB ADAPTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
16	INSPECT FOR SHORT TO GROUND BETWEEN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND CONNECTOR C-46 •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Instrument cluster terminal 2C and body ground ―  Instrument cluster terminal 2E and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-49 and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
17	INSPECT CAN LINE IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between instrument cluster terminal 2C (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between instrument cluster terminal 2E (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the instrument cluster because there is a short to ground in the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
18	INSPECT CAN LINE IN MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY/INFORMATION DISPLAY FOR SHORT TO GROUND •  Disconnect the multi information display/information display connector. •  Inspect for continuity at the following terminals: ―  Between multi information display/information display terminal 1V (wiring harness side) and body ground ―  Between multi information display/information display terminal 1X (wiring harness side) and body ground •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace the wiring harness between the multi information display/information display and connector C-11 because the wiring harness is shorted to ground.
		No	Replace the multi information display/information display because there is a short to ground in the multi information display/information display. (See MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See INFORMATION DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
