Determination Procedure

Caution
•  When disconnecting the connector, verify that there is no looseness, damage, deformation, corrosion, or poor connection of the connector terminals.
•  When inspecting the DLC-2, touch it with a paper clip or similar thin pin without directly inserting a tester into the terminals.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable before performing any work that requires handling of connectors.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-11 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-11.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 18.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-17.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 6.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-17 AND WATER HEATER UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at water heater unit terminals F and D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the connector C-11 and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-57 AND WATER HEATER UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-57.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at water heater unit terminals F and D.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the connector C-17 and connector C-57 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN WATER HEATER UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the water heater unit connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at water heater unit terminals F and D (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the water heater unit because there is a short to the power supply in the water heater unit.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the water heater unit and connector C-57 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-49 AND Bluetooth UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-49.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 9.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN Bluetooth UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-49 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at Bluetooth unit terminals Y and Z.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the connector C-49 and connector C-17 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN Bluetooth UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the Bluetooth unit connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at Bluetooth unit terminals Y and Z (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the Bluetooth unit because there is a short to the power supply in the Bluetooth unit.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the Bluetooth unit and connector C-49 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CONNECTOR C-46 AND DLC-2 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect connector C-46.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between DLC-2 and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-46 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at climate control unit terminals 2E and 2G.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 12.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the climate control unit connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at climate control unit terminals 2E and 2G (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the climate control unit because there is a short to the power supply in the climate control unit.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the climate control unit and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN AUDIO UNIT AND CONNECTOR C-46 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at the audio unit terminals 1O and 1Q.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 14.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN AUDIO UNIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the audio unit connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at audio unit terminals 1O and 1Q (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the audio unit because there is a short to the power supply in the audio unit.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the audio unit and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN USB ADAPTER AND CONNECTOR C-46 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at the USB adapter terminals 1O and 1Q.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Go to Step 16.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN USB ADAPTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the USB adapter connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at USB adapter terminals 1L and 1K (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the USB adapter because there is a short to the power supply in the USB adapter.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the USB adapter and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE BETWEEN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND CONNECTOR C-46 FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals 2C and 2E.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness between connector C-49 and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at instrument cluster terminals 2C and 2E (wiring harness side).
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster because there is a short to the power supply in the instrument cluster.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and connector C-46 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.

INSPECT CAN LINE IN MULTI INFORMATION DISPLAY/INFORMATION DISPLAY FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Connect connector C-11.
•  Disconnect the multi information display/ information display connector.
•  Switch the ignition ON.
•  Measure the voltage at DLC-2 terminals L and K.
•  Is the voltage between 1.5—3.5 V?
Yes
Replace the multi information display/information display because there is a short to the power supply in the multi information display/information display.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the multi information display/information display and connector C-11 because the wiring harness is shorted to the power supply.
