Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1
VERIFY DTCs
•  Retrieve DTCs from the auto leveling control module.
•   Is there any DTC present?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR INSTALLATION
•  Inspect the auto leveling sensor installation.
•  Is there any bending, damage or dislocated links at the bracket?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
No
Go to the next step.
3
INSPECT AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
•  Switch the ignition to ON.
•  Measure the voltage between auto leveling control module terminals H and ground.
•  Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect and repair or replace the malfunctioning part for an open circuit between the ignition switch (push start) and auto leveling control module terminals H.
4
INSPECT AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the auto leveling control module connector.
•  Verify the continuity between the auto leveling control module wiring harness-side connector terminal F and ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Connect the auto leveling control module connector, then go to the next step.
No
Inspect and repair for a loose or poor connection in the auto leveling control module ground point.
5
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN AUTO LEVELING SENSOR OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the headlights on.
•  Measure the voltage between auto leveling control module terminal E and ground.
•  Is the voltage 0.4—4.6V?
Yes
Go to Step 7.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL RELATED CIRCUIT
•  Inspect for an open or short circuit in the wiring harness between auto leveling control module terminal E and auto leveling sensor terminal B.
•  Is an open or short circuit detected?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part for an open or short circuit.
No
Go to the next step.
7
INSPECT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR
•  Inspect the auto leveling sensor.
•  Is the auto leveling sensor normal?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part for an open circuit in the following:
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal M and auto leveling sensor terminal C
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal D and auto leveling sensor terminal A
No
Replace the auto leveling sensor.
8
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN COMMUNICATION BETWEEN AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR ELSEWHERE
•  Retrieve the DTCs for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
•  Are the following DTCs displayed?
―  U0001:88, U0182:00
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
9
INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE
•  Inspect the instrument cluster.
•  Is the instrument cluster normal?
Yes
Replace the auto leveling control module.
No
Replace the instrument cluster.
