Without rear pre-tensioner seat belt

Caution
•  If the retractor is disassembled, it will not operate correctly due to looseness and excessive play of the internal parts, therefore, do not disassemble the retractor.

1.  Switch the ignition off.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear seat cushion (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Rear seat side back (See REAR SEAT SIDE BACK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Tire house trim (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  High-mount brake light (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Rear package trim (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the bolts.

5.  Remove the rear seat belt retractor.

6.  Remove the rear seat belt.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


With rear pre-tensioner seat belt

Warning
•  Handling the rear seat belt (rear pre-tensioner seat belt) improperly can accidentally deploy the pre-tensioner, which may seriously injure you. Read the air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the rear seat belt (rear pre-tensioner seat belt).

(5)  C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  High-mount brake light (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Rear package trim (See REAR PACKAGE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the rear pre-tensioner seat belt connector.

5.  Detach the clip.

6.  Remove the bolts.

7.  Remove the rear seat belt retractor.

8.  Remove the rear seat belt.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

10.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

11.  Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.

•  If the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See FLOWCHART [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].)

(5)  Trunk side pocket (See TRUNK SIDE POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the bolts.

5.  Remove the rear seat belt retractor.

6.  Remove the rear seat belt.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

(7)  Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Using a flathead screwdriver, lift the locking device carefully, however do not remove it. (rear pre-tensioner seat belt (RH))

5.  Disconnect the rear pre-tensioner seat belt connector.

6.  Remove the bolts.

7.  Remove the bolt.

8.  Remove the rear seat belt retractor.

9.  Remove the rear seat belt.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

11.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

12.  Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.

•  If the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See FLOWCHART [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM)].)
