POSSIBLE CAUSE	•  Radio wave disturbances or poor broadcast reception conditions •  Antenna plug poor connection •  Antenna feeder malfunction •  Antenna amplifier malfunction •  Car-navigation unit malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY RECEPTION CONDITION •  Tune radio frequency to a local radio station and verify the reception condition. •  Is the reception condition normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Park the vehicle in an area with good reception and verify the malfunction symptom.
2	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS ANTENNA PLUG POOR CONNECTION •  Verify the antenna plug connection condition. •  Is the connection condition normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Insert the antenna plug securely.
3	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS ANTENNA FEEDER •  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK). •  Inspect the antenna feeder. (See ANTENNA FEEDER NO.1 INSPECTION.) (See ANTENNA FEEDER NO.2 INSPECTION.) •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Replace the car-navigation unit. (See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY.)
		No	Replace the antenna feeder. (See ANTENNA FEEDER NO.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See ANTENNA FEEDER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS ANTENNA AMPLIFIER •  Inspect the antenna amplifier. (See ANTENNA AMPLIFIER INSPECTION.) •  Is the antenna amplifier normal?	Yes	Replace the car-navigation unit. (See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See CAR-NAVIGATION UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY.)
		No	Replace the antenna amplifier. (See ANTENNA AMPLIFIER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
