INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

2. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side Removal

5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and guide.

(b) Disconnect the connector to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Open the glove compartment door.

(b) Disengage the claw and release the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

(c) Slightly bend stoppers (A) and (B) in the directions indicated by the arrows in the illustration and pull the glove compartment door assembly until the stoppers are released.

(d) Open the glove compartment door assembly to approximately 55° from its closed position. Pull it horizontally in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

NOTICE:
Pulling the glove compartment door assembly upward to remove it causes the hinges to deform. Be sure to pull out the glove compartment door assembly horizontally.

7. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the claw to remove the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

8. REMOVE CENTER FLOOR CARPET COVER RH

(a) Pull the front center floor carpet cover RH in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the center floor carpet cover RH.

9. REMOVE CENTER FLOOR CARPET COVER LH

(a) Pull the front center floor carpet cover LH in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and guide, and remove the center floor carpet cover LH.

10. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX SHEET Removal

12. REMOVE LOWER CONSOLE BOX POCKET Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT Removal

14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 screws [E].

(b) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disconnect each connector to remove the combination meter assembly.

16. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Radio Receiver Type) Removal

17. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for Navigation Receiver Type) Removal

18. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 11 claws.

(b) Disengage the clamp.

(c) Disconnect each connector to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

19. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY Removal

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

22. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

23. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws [E].

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and guide.

(c) Disconnect each connector.

(d) Disengage the clamp to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

24. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

25. REMOVE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal

26. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

27. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Satellite Radio) Removal

28. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Satellite Radio) Removal

29. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Disengage the claw and disconnect the connector as shown in the illustration.

(d) Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the room temperature sensor from the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

(e) Disengage the 2 claws.

(f) Remove the 2 bolts [A], 10 screws [C] and screw [D] and lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
