DTC C0526[88] Steering Angle Sensor Signal Failure (ABS/ESC)

1. Brake control system check

Refer to "54.Brake Control 4A.Troubleshooting(ABS/ESC) diagnostic System Check - Brake Controls".

2. Prioritized DTC check

1) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

2) Connect the scan tool.

3) Turn ON the ignition switch.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is DTC U0055[88], U0126[81], U0126[86], or U0126[87] set at the same time?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

Refer to "54.Brake Control 4A.Troubleshooting(ABS/ESC) DTC U0126[81] Checksum Error With Steering Angle Sensor".

No

=>Go to Steering angle central position learning.

3. Steering angle central position learning

1) Perform central position learning of the steering angle sensor.

Refer to "6.Steering 6Z.Steering Electrical Control steering angle sensor setting".

Procedure completion

=>Go to DTC recheck.

4. DTC recheck

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Start the engine and drive at 35 km/h {22 mph} or more.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to Steering angle sensor replacement.

No

The system is normal.

5. Steering angle sensor replacement

1) Replace the steering angle sensor.

Note

  • Perform Learning for Steering Central Position after replacing the steering angle sensor.

Procedure completion

=>Go to Procedure completion verification.

6. Procedure completion verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Start the engine and drive at 35 km/h {22 mph} or more.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Yes

=>Go to EHCU replacement.

No

The system is normal.

7. EHCU replacement

Note

  • Perform programming after replacing the EHCU.

Procedure completion

=>Go to Repair verification.

8. Repair verification

1) Clear the DTC with a scan tool.

2) Turn OFF the ignition switch.

3) Start the engine and drive at 35 km/h {22 mph} or more.

4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool.
