BLOWER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER]

L.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Console panel (See CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Front scuff plate inner (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Dashboard under cover
(6)  Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Bonnet release lever (See BONNET LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(8)  Lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(9)  Center panel (See CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(10)  Audio unit (See AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(11)  Climate control unit (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)
(12)  Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(13)  Column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(14)  Instrument cluster (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

4.  Remove the power MOS FET (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOS FET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

5.  Remove the blower unit installation nuts.

6.  Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit, by inserting a phillips screwdriver into the hole made after removing the blower motor.

7.  Remove the two outer screws securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

8.  Remove the duct (2).

9.  Remove the blower unit.

10.  Temporary install the blower unit.

11.  Install in the duct (2) to the A/C unit and blower unit.

12.  Temporary install the two outer screws, securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

13.  Install the screw on the end of the phillips screwdriver with the packing tape.

Caution
•  If the packing tape remains in the duct (2), it may become a source of noise. Wind up the packing tape to prevent pinching when tightening the screw.

14.  Install the duct (2) to the A/C unit by inserting a phillips screwdriver, with the screw, into the hole made after removing the blower motor.

15.  Pull out the phillips screwdriver together with the packing tape.

16.  Tighten the two outer screws, securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

17.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

3.  Remove the blower motor. (See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

4.  Remove the power MOS FET (See POWER METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD EFFECT TRANSISTOR (POWER MOS FET) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

5.  Remove the air intake duct.

6.  Remove the BCM.

7.  Remove the blower unit installation nuts.

8.  Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit, by inserting a phillips screwdriver into the hole made after removing the blower motor.

9.  Remove the screw securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

10.  Remove the blower unit with duct (2).

11.  Install in the duct (2) to the blower unit.

12.  Remove the duct (2) from the blower unit.

13.  Install in the duct (2) with blower unit to the A/C unit.

14.  Temporary install the blower unit.

15.  Temporary install the two outer screws, securing the duct (2) to the A/C unit.

16.  Install the screw on the end of the phillips screwdriver with the packing tape.

Caution

17.  Install the duct (2) to the A/C unit by inserting a phillips screwdriver, with the screw, into the hole made after removing the blower motor.

20.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
