KEYLESS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Vehicle interior, front

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  CD player (with CD player) (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL.) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION.)

(3)  DVD/CD player (with DVD/CD player) (See DVD/CD PLAYER REMOVAL.) (See DVD/CD PLAYER INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Shift lever knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)

(5)  Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6)  Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(7)  Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(8)  Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

Caution

•  Disconnect the connector while holding the keyless antenna, otherwise the keyless antenna bracket could be damaged.

4.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

5.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the instrument panel.

6.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

7.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (4) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the instrument panel.

8.  Remove the keyless antenna from the instrument panel.

9.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

10.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

11.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

12.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Vehicle interior, rear

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the trunk covering. (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the trunk board. (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

Caution

•  Disconnect the connector while holding the keyless antenna, otherwise the keyless antenna bracket could be damaged.

5.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the body.

6.  Remove the keyless antenna from the body.

7.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

8.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

9.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Vehicle exterior, rear

With SCR system

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the fasteners.

3.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

Caution

•  Disconnect the connector while holding the keyless antenna, otherwise the keyless antenna bracket could be damaged.

4.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the bracket.

5.  Remove the keyless antenna from the bracket.

6.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

7.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

8.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Without SCR system (4SD)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Rear splash shield (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

Caution

•  Disconnect the connector while holding the keyless antenna, otherwise the keyless antenna bracket could be damaged.

4.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the bracket.

5.  Remove the keyless antenna from the bracket.

6.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

7.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

8.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Without SCR system (WGN)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

3.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the bracket.

4.  Remove the keyless antenna from the bracket.

5.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

6.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

7.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Vehicle exterior, driver's side/passenger's side

Note

•  The keyless antenna (vehicle exterior, driver's side/passenger's side) cannot be removed as a single unit because it is built into the front outer handle. To replace the keyless antenna (vehicle exterior, driver's side/passenger's side), replace the front outer handle. (See FRONT OUTER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

With Keyless Entry System

Vehicle interior, center

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the rear console panel. (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Disconnect the connector from the keyless antenna.

Caution

•  Disconnect the connector while holding the keyless antenna, otherwise the keyless antenna bracket could be damaged.

4.  While pressing the keyless antenna bracket tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket tab from the rear console bracket.

5.  Remove the keyless antenna from the rear console bracket.

6.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

7.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the keyless antenna bracket tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

8.  Remove the keyless antenna bracket from the keyless antenna.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
