1) Inspect the ATF level and contamination.
2) Adjust or replace as necessary.

Procedure completion
1) Connect the scan tool.
2) Turn OFF the ignition switch for 30 seconds or more.
3) Start the engine and operate the vehicle in the R range.
4) Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?
Yes
=>Go to Sensor harness inspection.
No
Go to Intermittent conditions of automatic transmission.

1) Inspect all the circuits connecting to the turbine speed sensor (pins 1 and 2 of E44) and the output speed sensor (pins 1 and 2 of E43) for the following. Is the result normal?

Yes
=>Go to Individual harness connector inspection.
No
Repair as necessary.
1) Inspect for poor connections at the turbine speed sensor harness connector (pins 1 and 2 of E44). Is the result normal?
2) Inspect for poor connections at the output speed sensor harness connector (pins 1 and 2 of E43). Is the result normal?
3) Inspect for poor connections at the TCM harness connector (pins 1, 2, 7, and 8 of E6). Is the result normal?

1) Inspect the following solenoids in the valve body assembly. Are all of the results normal?

Yes
Inspect the valve body, B1 brake, and B4 brake, and repair or replace as necessary.
No
Replace the valve body assembly.
