---|---|---|
Details
• Electric compressor does not operate when heating for only heat pump is performed
Possible Cause
• A/C pressure sensor (high voltage battery side) malfunction
• Evaporator temperature sensor malfunction
• Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
• Malfunction of temperature sensor of refrigerant line for condenser outlet
• Condenser malfunction
• Electric compressor malfunction
Diagnostic Procedure
Step |
Inspection |
Action |
---|---|---|---|
1
INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE
• Is the pressure less than 0.2 on the high and low pressure sides?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 3.
2
INSPECT SYSTEM PIPING
• Inspect the system piping for gas leakage using the gas leak tester.
(See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)
• Is the system piping normal?
Yes
Replace the high voltage battery and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Replace the O-ring of the malfunctioning location (system piping connecting area). Or replace the malfunctioning location of the system piping and perform the repair completion verification.
3
INSPECT REFRIGERNAT PRESSURE SENSOR (HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY SIDE)
• Inspect the refrigerant pressure sensor (high voltage battery side).
• Is the refrigerant pressure sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4
INSPECT EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
• Inspect the evaporator temperature sensor.
• Is the evaporator temperature sensor normal?
Yes
Verify the evaporator temperature installation condition and repair the installation position.
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
5
INSPECT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
• Inspect the ambient temperature sensor.
• Is the ambient temperature sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
6
INSPECT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF REFRIGERANT LINE FOR CONDENSER OUTLET
• Inspect the temperature sensor of refrigerant line for condenser outlet.
• Is the temperature sensor of refrigerant line for condenser normal outlet?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the temperature sensor of refrigerant line for condenser outlet and perform the repair completion verification.
7
INSPECT CONDENSER
• Inspect the condenser.
(See CONDENSER INSPECTION.)
• Is there cool airflow?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the condenser and perform the repair completion verification.
8
INSPECT CONDENSER FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE MALFUNCTION
• Open the hood and facilitate heat radiation by blowing air using a fan.
• Verify if operation starts after 30 min.
Yes
Explain to the customer that it is a temporary fail-safe measure.
No
Replace the electric compressor and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION DOES NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIRS
• Perform heating for only heat pump and verify that the electric compressor operates.
Yes
Troubleshooting completed (explain repair contents to customer).
No
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
