PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, MZR 2.5, MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo]

1.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Shift knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Selector lever knob (ATX or CVT) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See CVT (CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE) SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Remove the under cover. (See REAR TRAILING LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the tunnel member (rear). (MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop, MZR 2.5) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop].)

4.  Remove the brace bar. (SKYACTIV-G 2.0) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)

5.  Remove the tunnel member. (MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

6.  Remove the TWC. (MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, MZR 2.5) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

7.  Remove the middle pipe. (MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI Turbo].)

8.  Remove the insulator (middle No.1) and the insulator (middle No.2). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].) 9.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

11.  After installation, inspect the parking brake stroke and adjust if necessary. (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER INSPECTION.)

Parking Brake Cable Installation Note

1.  Pass the parking brake cable inside the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness as shown in the figure.

2.  Install the rear parking brake cable.

3.  Verify that the end of the parking brake cable outer end is out of the caliper as shown in the figure.
