REAR PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the following parts:
2. Loosen the adjusting nut.
3. Remove the floor under cover. (with floor under cover) (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Remove the middle pipe. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
5. Remove the insulator (middle). (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0 DISI].) (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
6. Remove the cover. (See REAR TRAILING LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
7. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
9. After installation, inspect the parking brake stroke and adjust if necessary. (See PARKING BRAKE LEVER INSPECTION.)

Rear Parking Brake Cable Removal Note
1. Turn the lock lever as shown in the figure.

2. Remove the rear parking brake cable from the bracket.
3. Wrap the rear parking brake cable end with tape.

4. Remove the rear parking brake cable while pulling it from the outside of the vehicle.
Rear Parking Brake Cable Installation Note
1. Wrap the rear parking brake cable end with tape.

2. Install the rear parking brake cable while pushing it in from the outside of the vehicle.
3. Install the rear parking brake cable to the bracket.

4. Turn the lock lever as shown in the figure.
