SHROUD PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Seal board upper (See SEAL BOARD UPPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front combination light (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Set plate (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Energy-absorbing form (See ENERGY-ABSORBING FORM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6)  Front under cover No.1 (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(7)  Bumper stiffener lower (See BUMPER STIFFENER LOWER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(8)  Active air shutter (if equipped) (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(9)  Seal plate (SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5) (See SEAL PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(10)  Charge air cooler (SKYACTIV-D 2.2, SKYACTIV-G 2.5T) (See CHARGE AIR COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See CHARGE AIR COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T].)

(11)  Horn (See HORN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(12)  Shroud upper member (See SHROUD UPPER MEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(13)  Front bumper reinforcement (See FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(14)  Rader unit (with Mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system) (See RADAR UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(15)  Bonnet latch (See BONNET LATCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(16)  Crash zone sensor (See CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) (See CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].)

(17)  Ambient temperature sensor (See AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER].)

(18)  Fresh air duct installation bolt (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITHOUT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5)].) 3.  While pressing the tabs of wiring harness clips A and B in the directions of the arrows, remove wiring harness clips A and B secured to the shroud panel.

4.  Relocate the bonnet stay to the position shown in the figure.

5.  Press down the tabs shown in the figure in the direction of the arrow, pull out the upper mount rubber bracket toward the vehicle rear, and remove it.

6.  Pull up the radiator in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

Warning

•  Removing the shroud panel without supporting it could cause the shroud panel to fall and cause serious injury. Always perform the procedure with at least another person to prevent the shroud panel from falling.

7.  Pull down the shroud panel in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure, then remove it from the radiator mount guide.

8.  Remove the shroud panel.

Caution

•  Support the lower surface of the radiator with a jack to prevent the radiator from falling off after the shroud panel is removed.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

10.  Adjust the headlight aiming. (See HEADLIGHT AIMING.)

11.  Adjust the rader unit aiming. (with MRCC system) (See RADAR UNIT AIMING.)
