LIFTGATE HINGE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Liftgate (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front map light(See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(E)].)

(4)  Sensor cover (See SENSOR COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(5)  Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(6)  Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(7)  Front pillar trim (See FRONT PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(8)  Roof side trim (See ROOF SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(9)  Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(10)  Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(11)  Rear pillar trim (See REAR PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the bolts.

4.  Partially peel back the cabin side weatherstrip.

5.  Move the headliner in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the surface fasteners from the sunroof unit. (With sunroof system)

6.  Slide the headliner in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the clips from the headliner.

7.  Place the headliner on the front and rear seats.

8.  Remove the clips from the roof panel.

9.  Remove the nuts.

10.  Remove the liftgate hinge.

11.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Headliner Installation Note.)

12.  Adjust the liftgate. (See LIFTGATE ADJUSTMENT.)

13.  Perform the 360° view monitor system aiming. (With 360° view monitor system) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)

14.  Perform the rear mount camera aiming. (Without 360° view monitor system, With parking assist system (predicted vehicle path assist lines display type)) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)

Headliner Installation Note

1.  Install the clips to the headliner before installing it.
