DESCRIPTION

Error signal from instrument cluster
DETECTION CONDITION
•  Information display/Multi information display receives invalid signal of vehicle speed data from instrument cluster for 5 s or more, while the ignition is ON.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Instrument cluster DTC is stored.
•  PCM DTC is stored.
•  Instrument cluster malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
•  Information display/Multi information display malfunction

CONFIRM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC
•  Perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
Go to the next step.

CONFIRM PCM DTC
•  Perform the PCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [MZR 2.0 DISI i-stop].)

No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Clear the DTC from information display/multi information display using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Perform the information display/multi information display DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.

No
Go to Step 6.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTIONING PART IS PCM
•  Clear the DTC from information display/multi information display using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Perform the information display/multi information display DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

•  Clear the DTC from information display/multi information display using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Perform the information display/multi information display DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the information display/multi information display, then go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
