DTC P0299 (Flash Code 65) Turbocharger Underboost (RZ4E-TC)

1. DTC P0299 description

The boost pressure sensor is installed to the air duct, and is integrated with the CAC temperature sensor. The boost pressure sensor changes the signal voltage in accordance with changes in air pressure in the air intake pipe. The ECM monitors the boost pressure sensor signal. If the ECM detects an excessively low signal voltage, the DTC is set. This indicates that the boost pressure is excessively low.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0299

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.
  • The ignition voltage is 9 to 16 V.
  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • DTCs P0047, P0087, P0088, P0089, P0091, P0092, P0093, P0102, P0103, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0122, P0123, P0192, P0193, P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0237, P0238, P02E3, P042E, P042F, P060B, P0638, P0651, P1093, P1655, P2227, P2228, P2229, and U0001 are not set.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The ECM detects that the actual boost pressure is less than the desired boost pressure by the predetermined value or more for 10 seconds or more under a particular condition.

3. Action taken when DTC P0299 sets

  • Euro4: The ECM illuminates the MIL. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type B (Euro4).
  • Except Euro4: The ECM illuminates the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type B (Except Euro4).

  • The ECM limits the fuel injection quantity.
  • The ECM inhibits pre-injection.
  • The ECM inhibits the EGR control.
  • The ECM inhibits the cruise control.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0299

  • Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL/DTC - Type A or Type B (Euro4).
