Functions

• The instrument cluster displays the following information to notify the driver of the vehicle conditions.

― Vehicle speed (speedometer display function)

― Discharging power amount/Charging power amount (power meter display function)

― Traveled distance (odometer/tripmeter display function)

― High voltage battery level

― High voltage battery temperature

― Average electrical power consumption rate and orientation of vehicle traveling direction (drive information display function)

― Remaining distance to full discharge

― Charging status

― Ambient temperature

― Warning/indicator light (warning/indicator light turn on/flash function)

― Warning/indicator message (multi-information display)

Speedometer display function

• The instrument cluster displays the current vehicle speed based on the vehicle speed signal from the electronically controlled brake unit on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster. For details on the speedometer, refer to [SPEEDOMETER]. (See SPEEDOMETER.)

Power meter display function

• The instrument cluster displays the discharging power amount/charging power amount based on the power meter signal from the PCM. For details on the power meter, refer to [POWER METER]. (See POWER METER.)

Odometer/tripmeter display function

• The instrument cluster displays the total traveled distance/traveled distance over a specific interval based on the travel distance signal sent via CAN communication from the PCM on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster. For details on the odometer/tripmeter, refer to [ODOMETER/TRIPMETER]. (See ODOMETER/TRIPMETER.)

Panel light control function

• The instrument cluster changes the brightness of the panel light based on the panel light control switch signal and TNS (parking lights) signal sent via CAN communication from the body control module (BCM). For details on the panel light, refer to [PANEL LIGHT]. (See PANEL LIGHT.)

Drive information display function

• The instrument cluster calculates the average electrical power consumption rate based on the electrical power consumption signal and traveled distance signal sent from the BCM via CAN communication and displays it on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster. In addition, it displays the instantaneous electrical power consumption rate on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster based on the electrical power consumption signal and traveled distance signal sent via CAN communication from the BCM. Distance to full discharge display function

• The instrument cluster calculates the remaining distance to full discharge based on the high voltage battery level signal and electrical power consumption signal sent from the BCM via CAN communication and displays it on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster. Warning/indicator light turn on/flash function, message/system operation status display function

• The instrument cluster turns on or flashes the warning indicator lights to notify the driver of the vehicle system status.

• The types of warning/indicator lights are as follows: For details on each warning/indicator light, refer to each reference.

• A warning message in the center display/multi-information display is displayed when the warning/indicator light is turned on or flashed. For the display content, refer to the [MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY] or [CENTER DISPLAY] in the workshop manual. (See MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY [(E)].)
